Vulnerabilities Under the Global Protection Regime: How Does the Law Assess, Address, Shape and Produce the Vulnerabilities of the Protection Seekers?
In her current research project, Nakueira aims to understand how the law assesses, addresses and produces vulnerabilities of protection seekers in practice. She examines how decision makers interpret and implement law in Uganda and South Africa, and how this is experienced by protection seekers in these respective countries. Nakueira’s research is part of the VULNER Project, which aims to provide a comparative analysis of how ‘protection regimes’ in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Norway, Lebanon, and North America address the vulnerabilities of protection seekers.
