Transmission, Containment and Transformation. A Sawyer Seminar Podcast Series

Told through vivid historical accounts the podcast explores different themes connected to “Transmission, Containment and Transformation” in early modern cities – from Florence to colonial Mexico via New Delhi – and makes visible little-known individual stories that enrich our understanding of the human experience.

Die Nähe Neu denken/ Re-mind the Nearby website and podcast

Die Nähe Neu denken/ Re-mind the Nearby is a digital humanities project providing a glimpse into the lives of migrant women – from Eritrea, Syria, Sudan, and the Ukraine – and their experiences of settling and creating a new nearby in Halle (Saale). Re-minding the ‘Nearby’ is a way of seeing, and a way of remaking ruptured worlds. By paying attention to how migrant women create new relationships with a new environment – while keeping their memories of the old ones alive – the project makes visible the need of re-thinking our immediate surrounding.
