Spot On | Michael Fürstenberg – The Collective Learning of a Transnational Far-right Extremist Community
In his research, Michael Fürstenberg studies how right-wing extremists, specifically followers of the terrorism-advocating “militant accelerationism” movement, learn and construct knowledge collectively despite lacking a centralized organizational structure. Through dispersed but dense interactions online, they form a transnational community of practice which produces a potentially attractive coherent identity and connects individual terror attacks, like the one in Halle 2019, into a larger strategic framework.
