The territorial and logistical methods of mobility governance
In this video, Sverre Molland (Senior Lecturer in Anthropology, Australian National University) and Biao Xiang discuss how the securitization of mobility differs from the classical means of mobility control, namely with border closure and lockdown. Territorial methods anchor people to a particular place, thus halting mobility. In comparison, logistical measures trace movement and sometimes facilitate mobility in order to condition it.
